That’s a pretty good argument for going to uni as it is! But uni can also be an exciting place where you can meet great people, take part in fantastic events and access opportunities at both a personal and social level.
Notice that the word ’study’ hasn’t featured yet?
Well study is important at uni, but you’ll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself too. Many students find that the friendships they make at uni last a lifetime. Becoming involved in a club or society develops skills and social connections. So it’s not just intellectual stimulation you’ll find at uni!
And uni is so much more than school. It has so many courses to offer you, from screen and theatre studies to sustainable environments and cultural politics. Uni can take your passions further than you ever dreamed. It can get you thinking about the future in a totally new way.

Deciding to go to uni was absolutely the best decision I have ever made. I never thought that the things I could study would be so interesting, that I would meet a wonderful group of friends, and that I would receive so many opportunities for exciting work and travel. Before I came to uni, I never dreamed I could do the work I’m doing now; uni has given me the confidence and skills to do so.

When I was in year 10, the idea of doing more study was just awful. But when I got to uni, I had choice and control over what I studied and when I studied. Uni wasn’t dry and frustrating- it was just so different!”
